How to use the library catalogue
The Swedish Research Institute in Istanbul 's library catalogue is local (single user) and
it is currently not possible to access it externally. However, if you want to check if a
specific book is available here before departing to Istanbul , you can do so via the
Swedish National library catalogue, LIBRIS.
1). http://www.libris.kb.se
2). Go to LIBRIS webbsök
3). Click “utökad” (in English: “extended”)
4). Type in the details of the book you are enquiring
5).
In the “bibliotekskod” (in English: “library code”), write the code of the Swedish
Research Institute which is Sfii
6). If the book appears, the requested item should
be available at the SRII.
7). Please note that recently catalogued items in the local catalogue at the SRII
might not yet appear in LIBRIS. If the literature you are searching for does not
appear in LIBRIS you are welcome to send your enquiry to the SRII staff who
can help you with a local search. sri@kilim.com.tr
Library loans
1). When using book from the Institute library, please fill out a loan slip (see example by
the librarian's desk), with a carbon copy, for each volume. All books used in the library,
or in the guest rooms must have a loan slip. You will find the slips and plastic holders
(to be put on the shelves in the place of the borrowed book), on the librarian's desk at
the rear of the library.
2). You must write the author, the title, the classification number, your name and your
guest room number on the loan slip (as in the example by the librarian's desk).
3). Returning books: Books should be returned to the trolley next to the librarian's desk,
and not to the shelves , as this often results in the misplacement of volumes. Please
do refrain from putting the books back yourselves.
4). Upon departure, please check with the librarian that all library books loaned by
you have been returned.
The SRII library is provided with both wireless and ethernet connections.
Due to the recent legislative changes regarding file sharing software in Sweden, please
note that the use of p2p applications at the SRII
is illegal as this use potentially infringes
copyright laws
worldwide. We therefore ask all our visiting scholars and researchers
to be aware of this.
